Beautiful bottle from Gnathia attributed to the Rose Painter. Done in the classic Gnathia style with large bands of ivy garlands, dotted ovolo, filled dots and rays. Painted in red,white and yellow highlights. Circa 34-320 BC.

The central figure shows imagery of a swan, an iconographic identifier of Aphrodite. Measures 6 1/4 inches in height.

Provenance: Ex. Gebhard and Johannes Hager. Exhibited at the Stadtmuseum Ottweiler.
