Here you find an early polychromed pottery anthropomorphic vessel from Peru dating to approx 400 AD. This vase depicting a bulbous-bodied figure carrying a large double log type bundle on his back, bundle decorated with a cream painted star decoration on a black ground. Poncho painted with multi-color vertical strips, dot pattern on face. Scattered mineral deposits on the surface. Right arm restored, body repaired from three large original pieces, tip of spout repaired from two original pieces. Piece measures 8.5 inches high and comes with a custom lucite block base. A very rare example!
